Serenity Trauma Healing Center provides a wide range of mental health services in Malibu, CA. When our clients are seeking assistance, they often have many questions. When trauma and recovery from pain, injury, or substance use disorders impact their lives, we’re here to help individuals and their families who have suffered. Here are some answers to help you understand what it is we do.

What types of services do you provide?

Our mental health services in Malibu include a wide range of therapies provided under our Chronic Pain and Trauma, Family, Custom Outpatient Trauma, and Intensive Outpatient programs. A Day Treatment Program for ongoing support and a Partial Hospitalization Program tailored to your lifestyle and mental health needs are also offered.

Do you take insurance?

How much does treatment cost?

Each treatment is priced based on the program you sign up for, the therapies that are provided, and how long you are enrolled.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Serenity Trauma Healing Center accepts cashier’s checks, wire transfers, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express and most major credit cards). We allow our clients to pay for mental services in Malibu in a way that’s most convenient for them.

How long is your Program

Understanding trauma survivors have different needs, we offer flexible options for how long you stay. Our programs start at two weeks in length. From there, we evaluate each client on a weekly basis, and our clinical staff makes recommendations on each individual’s optimal length of stay. 

Who will be providing treatment?

Our licensed clinicians include Founder/Executive Director Joanne Mednick, Psy. D., LMFT, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and many others. Most of our therapists are licensed at the master’s or doctoral level, providing marriage/family therapy, psychotherapy, and a range of other special treatment methods for trauma, addiction, and eating disorders. Can my family or spouse be included in my treatment?

At Serenity Trauma Healing Center, we encourage family participation, as familial support is an important component of trauma recovery. Our clinicians can also teach family members how to encourage individuals and help them deal with trauma, substance use, and/or mental illness.

Can I visit your facility before committing to treatment?

We understand how stressful—and sometimes scary—seeking treatment can be for a victim of trauma. Having many years of experience providing mental health services, we welcome all prospective clients and their families to tour our facility in advance. Do you accept service animals?

Yes. We accept certified service animals as long as they are hypo-allergenic, to accompany our clients through their treatment.
